Kaesora Library - SoD Leveling Guide
Kaesora Library is a HUGE zone with tons of enemies to kill. If you don't have a group and aren't a boxer you've found the wrong place to hunt! I'm going to split my guide into two sections for this zone; the first section is the easier part which is the Library. The harder part will come later which is the pit - the area you see on the right side of the map above.
(Additional Note) Keep in mind too that you can also hunt the hallways of this zone if you're incapable of taking out any of the named enemies or if you can't handle some of the larger pulls in the two camps I am going to talk about. The hallways are filled with single or double pulls which should be easily managable by a smaller group or boxer.
The Library area is found at the southern most portion of the map and it has a decent amount of enemies spaced out enough to get them in single pulls. There will be some larger pulls but the majority of the pulls will be smaller. Due to this, I highly recommend this location to weaker groups and/or those without a full group.
In the Library area you'll find two named enemies to kill. Both of those nameds are listed below as well as their loot tables:
Assistant Librarian Krekn: Ebonlight, Ebonweave Drape, Shawl of Silent Servitude, Warped Seminal Incandessence, Warped Seminal Luminessence
Chief Groundskeeper Dralnit: Featherbent Faceguard, Kaesora Ring of Service, Ring of the Keeper, Whispering Guise, Fractured Seminal Incandessence, Fractured Seminal Luminessence
Keep in mind that the buildings that house the two named enemies mentioned above are basically as difficult as the area we're going to talk about next. If you can handle these nameds and the rooms that they're found in you may just be able to handle the other half of the zone too!
The next location is the one that Kaesora Library is most famous for. Before swarming got nerfed Shadowknights practically lived in this zone pulling the whole pit area and killing it at one time. Ahh, those were the days man! If you're reading this guide on an RoF emulator or even a VoA one you can probably still do this!
But most of us are living here in reality on Daybreak's Live servers so let's just assume that. Now the main reason this pit is so attractive to SKs and groups is because of how compact the enemies are. They basically stand around in groups of three and it's extremely easy to get two groups with one pull - yes that's right 6 enemies with one pull. Be prepared or bring CC!
On the surrounding rim of the pit you'll only find one named enemy, Teacher's Pet. A majority of the nameds in this area are down in the pit or even further down in the under portion of Kaesora Library. If you're looking at the map above you can actually continue down through the pit until you reach tunnels then you can continue through those tunnels until you reach another giant room with some nameds that spawn here.
I'm not really going to tell you where to camp or where to hunt down here - that choice is up to you. There's tons of different areas you can go or try out with a group and many different named enemies for you to slay. The only advice I will give you is to take it slow and be careful!
If you're curious here is a list of all the different named enemies you'll find in this area in roughly the order you'll find them as you progress down the pit and to the "throne room" like area.

Save any Chronal Resonance Dust and Sunshard Ore for barters as well as Cultural Silk, Ore and the more useful gems, Taaffeite, Prestidigitase, Harmonagate, Staurolite. You can sell these items in The Bazaar for a decent amount of plat or to a barter for less plat but instant money by typing /bar. You can also do this anywhere in the game.
Additional Information
- In order to reach this zone you'll need to go through The Void which can be reached from Plane of Time. There's two easy ways to reach Plane of Time, the Guild Hall portal or a Wizard/Druid. Or you could speak with the NPC in PoK that ports you here, Herald of Druzzil Ro. If you're unfamiliar with any of what I just said, use my guide on how to reach SoD zones. Once in The Void you'll need to take the portal to Field of Scale. Kaesora Library is in the southern portion of this zone.
- There are two different quest lines in Field of Scale and other SoD revamped Kunark zones for you to complete which will reward you with two different Illusion clickies. Bone Mask of the Ancient Iksar and Baron Yosig's Skeleton.
- If you're having trouble managing your Inventory Space I highly recommend you invest in some Extraplanar Trade Satchels which are 32 Slot Tradeskill Bags. Alternatively you could also buy Unexpanded Tailored Backpacks as well. Though, the Backpacks will likely be more expensive. Follow the links provided to learn more about each item.
- If you need more plat while leveling I strongly recommend you check out my How to make more plat while leveling by Bartering Guide. It'll give you a list of all the different items you should be keeping an eye out for to Barter/Sell!
