Siren's Grotto - Post Mercenary Leveling Guide
Siren's Grotto is a great location for this level range for players looking to make some extra cash while they earn some EXP. This location is marginally harder than Old Sebilis but arguably would give you much more vendor trash if you actually have the space to carry it all!
Velious zones drop a ton of different gems that you can't find anywhere else which are used in the many different armor quests for that expansion pack. The gems are basically useless to us right now except for the fact that they still vendor for 30pp + each! In a few hours of farming here you'll probably have 80 or more different types of gems which will net you a pretty penny once we're done here.
As for Siren's Grotto itself, the zone can be a little bit frustrating if you hate being underwater at all. When you first zone in from Cobalt's Scar you'll only be able to fight one or two mobs on land before having to jump into the drink. If you've got the Journeyman Tank Mercenary still he'll be able to dispatch all of the swordfish and seahorse enemies you come across quite easily in the water.
Just take your time and make your way either north through the underwater tunnel system towards the Western Wastes zone line where you'll find a ton of enemies for you to kill on land. Or you could travel east through the water to the large building in the center of the zone, filled with Sirens. Or even further east until you hit the land mass on the far eastern side of the zone where Mistress Latazura resides.
The only part of Siren's Grotto I strongly suggest you avoid is the area far to the north with Mistress of the Darkwater. This location is littered with Sirens which will pose difficulty unless you're boxing and not only that but Mistress of the Darkwater is no joke. You have to go straight down a very unique underwater tunnel to reach this location so long as you remember not to do that you'll be A-ok.

- While hunting here keep an eye out for Deepwater Ink which is a valuable Tradeskill material.
- You can reach Siren's Grotto by taking the Guild Hall portal to Cobalt Scar then traveling north. Alternatively you could also have a Wizard or Druid port you to Cobalt Scar.
- If you're having trouble managing your Inventory Space I highly recommend you invest in some Extraplanar Trade Satchels which are 32 Slot Tradeskill Bags. Alternatively you could also buy Unexpanded Tailored Backpacks as well. Though, the Backpacks will likely be more expensive. Follow the links provided to learn more about each item.
