Bastion of Thunder - Bees 65 - 75

***Notice*** Everyone reading this guide in 2018 or later should note that this guide was written in 2009 or so when Underfoot was the current expansion pack. As you can imagine a lot has changed in the game since that time and some of what you read in this guide may be inaccurate or misleading. The Bees in Bastion of Thunder are a great source of XP during the late 60s and early 70s. The bees are found in the basement of Bastion of Thunder, below all of the other mobs/camps here. In order to reach the bees you will need to go to the back of any of the four wings and take the teleport pad down to the bees. If you're lower level and don't have invis running through these mobs can be a bit dangerous so I'd recommend you run through the earth wing, it seems to be the most straight forward route to follow although it is the longest run.

You could go through the water area but the mobs here are all packed together and it could get hairy quick if one stuns you. Once you're down at the bees you can start the killing fun! There are four different alcoves of bees each with about a dozen bees in it. The bees are a mixture of Warrior and Clerics, some of them just straight up attack you and do absolutely nothing else and some of them have an extremely annoying full heal that you have to interrupt or you'll be wacking them for quite awhile.

Depending on your class this full heal can make this an extremely terrible place to grind XP. If you're a class that can't interrupt the mobs at all you will literally be fighting the same bee for 5 to 10 minutes as you wait for them to waste all of their mana. This is very frustrating as well as a complete waste of your time.

In addition to the bees down in this area you will find Stormwatchers which are large gargoyle like mobs with a lot of HP that summon. These mobs con indifferent to you unless you attack one and then they will switch to KoS. The Stormwatchers are higher level than the bees so they give better XP although they hit much harder and as aforementioned have more HP. However the Stormwatchers do not fully heal which is a giant plus in my book.

I recommend you kill the Stormwatchers around the edges of the bee area (far to the northeast/west and South east/west) ignore the ones in the middle as when you attack one of them usually all four come which I am sure some of you can easily handle but more likely than not they will put a damper on your day.
