Wall of Slaughter Leveling Guide
***Notice*** Everyone reading this guide in 2018 or later should note that this guide was written in 2009 or so when Underfoot was the current expansion pack. As you can imagine a lot has changed in the game since that time and some of what you read in this guide may be inaccurate or misleading. This page *does* still have some useful info which is why my newer leveling guides link here - but you should understand that most of the information here is outdated, I've taken what's correct and incorporated it into my newer leveling guides.
If you're here from one of my older links then head over to my new Everquest Leveling Guides Index page as you'll find guides for each expansion for you to choose from. I strongly urge you to use these newer leveling guides instead.
To get to Wall of Slaughter head through the portal in the Guild Hall. Once you arrive in Wall of Slaughter jump off the ledge you arrive on and head east to the Undead Murkgliders. The only thing you have to watch out for with the murks is that they run, and in the big rooms you can get adds.
IMPORTANT NOTE - READ BEFORE YOU CONTINUE WITH THIS GUIDE
As of, well I honestly don't know when but these Murkgliders are NO LONGER UNDEAD. I'm not sure why SoE changed it but after about 5 or 6 years of them being flagged as 'Undead' they aren't anymore. Sorry about that guys! I will try and get an update here as soon as i know of another location!
If you are struggling with this location or any other location around your level I have a few things that you could do to hopefully fix that. First and foremost you will want to upgrade your gear if you're still using Defiant Gear. There are a ton of Attunable items that you can find in The Bazaar, I recommend you buy the ones that are upgrades and equip them. If you want some help finding these items I highly recommend you use my Bazaar Gear Buying Guide (65+). The second and probably most important thing you can do is get all of the important AAs for your Class. To figure out what AAs are the most important AAs to get I recommend you read over my Everquest AA Placement Guide.
With better gear and all of the important AAs you will notice a gigantic difference in your character and what they are capable of.
Items of Interest:

That's really about all there is to this camp. Nothing amazing or shocking, just 5 boring levels =P. Luckily the next zone is one of the funnest places I think you can ever go in EQ, The Hole.
Before you think about going to The Hole make sure you have a Shrink spell, an item that will Shrink you or a potion that will shrink you. If you're wonder what the name of the potion you need to buy is, it is "Philter of the Ant". Also if you have some extra cash I'd recommend buying damage shield pots.
To get to the Hole, from PoK you need to take the Paineel Stone. This will take you to Toxxulia Forest. Once you're here head southeast to Paineel.
Once you're in Paineel head southeast to The Hole. The Hole's entrance is underwater, in order to get in you need to use your Shrink Item, Spell or Potion to Shrink yourself as small as possible. Above the rock on the right you'll be able to slip right in.
