Permafrost Goblin Farming Guide

PP Per Hour Estimate: 1,200 to 1,400pp
Average Plat Per Kill: 1-3pp

In the low 50s there are only a few different options for farming plat, and Permafrost is one of them. Inside of Permafrost Caverns you will find Goblins, lots and lots of Goblins. All over the "front" of the caverns is where you will find all the Goblins that you will want to be killing. The reason I say the front of the caverns is because deeper in you will find big angry Ice Giants with a ton of HP that aren't very happy to see you. How you can tell if you've gone too far is when you reach the large wooden double panel doors. If you left click these to open them an angry Ice Giant is going to charge out at you.

Of course if you can handle the Ice Giants than it isn't much of a problem. They don't hit very hard but since they were designed as raid targets they have a ton of HP. I remember one time I was beating on one for close to ten minutes before finally killing it. Needless to say, it was no fun and most definitely not worth the time spent. Your best bet is to stick to the Goblins to maximize the profit of time spent here.

They have a chance to drop Fine Steel Weapons and other goodies but the drop rate is so low it is hardly worth mentioning. Aside from the Fine Steel and raw plat you'll get every kill the Goblins will drop Ringmail Gear and Raw Hide Gear that you can sell to a vendor for a little bit of money. You'll also want to hold onto any Permafrost Crystals you get from here as they're used in Crafting and could be worth some plat.
