Velium Ore Farming Locations
Velium Ore is one of the main ingredients used for Velious Smithing and Tailoring Tradeskill recipes. This ore can only be farmed in Velious zones and it typically only drops off from enemies in higher level zones. The three best zones I have found for farming Velium Ore are Velketor's Labyrinth, Tower of Frozen Shadow and Crystal Caverns.
In addition to these zones, you're also able to find Velium Ore in Skyshrine, Thurgadin and Icewell Keep. You can also take Velium weapons that are found on different enemies across Velious and break them down in a Forge similar to High Quality Ore in Classic. Crystal Caverns - Lower Level Velium Ore Farming
This is one of the, if not the, lowest level location to farm Velium Ore. What you'll want to be farming is the Ry'gorr Orcs which are nearby the zone line for Eastern Wastes. The area they're found in is basically a maze, if you're unfamiliar with it - it'll take awhile to learn your way around. Luckily though the Orc population in this area is rather high. All the orcs in this zone are between the levels of 25 - 35.
Tower of Frozen Shadow - Mid to High Level Velium Ore Farming
Depending on which part of the zone you choose to farm, you'll be fighting enemies in the 30s or in the 50s. The only difference between the lower level enemies and the higher level enemies is the size of Ore that they drop. The drop rates in my experience are similar across the board for Ore.
Another thing that you should be warned about before coming here, all of the floors require a Key in order to access it. You find each Key as a drop on the floor and then you need to click the mirror on the wall in order to progress to the next floor. Velketor's Labyrinth - High Level Velium Ore Farming
Out of the three different locations I have listed on this page, this one will be the most difficult when it comes to farming Velium Ore. The Kobolds are the easiest enemies to farm since they're in their mid to late 40s. They also drop a bunch of different goodies, such as Spider Fur gear. The named Kobolds also drop decent stuff, assuming that you're playing on a TLP server sometime early on in the game. If your server has Defiant gear, these items will be useless.
Better than the Kobolds in terms of Velium Ore, you'll find enemies 50+ in the southern tunnels, south of the Lower Kobolds camp and nearby where Lord Doljonijiarnimorinar is found.
