Halo Reach (MCC) Firefight Guide - Beachhead

Beachhead Loading Screen

Beachhead is another map from Reach's Campaign, this one comes from the end of the Exodus mission. During the final part of the mission you'll be tasked with assaulting this compound, during Firefight we'll be the ones protecting the compound while the Covenant assault it.

This is one of my top 3 favorite maps to play Firefight on in the Master Chief Collection because this map has everything. You've got various vehicles that you can drive around on, many great sniping perches and a sizeable distance between you and the enemies each time they spawn or are dropped off.

You'll find the ammo resupply stations inside of the main building which is in the northeastern portion of the map. Enemies are dropped into the area via Drop Ships throughout and they also have various spawn points where they will instantly spawn in at. When you are playing on normal Firefight the biggest threat to you on this level will be the Wraith tanks.

Wraiths can be dropped into the map via a Drop Ship in a few different areas. The middle of the primary courtyard is the main location and the secondary one is in the northwestern portion of the map by the water. I find the Wraith by the water to be more deadly because you typically don't notice it until it blows you up (if you're the sniping type like me).

On normal Firefight there will also be numerous Ghosts dropped into the area throughout the game which you can steal if you're good enough. As far as friendly vehicles go, there is a Warthog that you can take in the garage of the main building. Search the eastern side of the main building and you'll find the area I am talking about. I'd recommend the Ghost though to people who want to use a vehicle on this map. Ghosts have better mobility in tight quarters and are superior to the Warthog here in my opinion.

I would argue that really any strategy works on Beachhead but the two best in my opinion are having one person watch over each area of the map or having half the team mobile and half stationary. You can hang out on the platforms of the main building with a DMR for the entire game and pick off enemies before they get anywhere near the building. Alternatively, you can run around and hunt enemies in the areas they spawn too - it's up to your play style to dictate what you want to do.

My favorite spots to camp on this map include one of the high platforms on the main building, the glass ceiling on the path leading up to the main building or on the rocks along the cliff in the northwest. You'll need a Jetpack to reach all of these locations - especially the one up on the cliff. This location is technically out of bounds but it's also not depending on where you stand.

Extra Tips & Tricks

- When you are playing Sniper, Rocket, Fiesta or any of the other arcade game modes for Firefight you should always use a Jet Pack Loadout. When using a Jet Pack and getting a killing blow you'll be rewarded the Firebird Medal which will get you more EXP overall. You only get the Firebird Medal when you are holding down the button and ascending with the Jet Pack. Letting go of the button and scoring the KB on the descend will not earn you this medal.

- During normal Firefight modes the Target Locator will have its ammo restored after each round. For this reason it's strongly recommended you do not get rid of this weapon after you use up its ammo; if you die while holding the Target Locator return to where you died and pick it up again before it's despawned at the end of the round. As far as the best time to use the Target Locator, typically towards the end of the round. Not the final set because the final set is very small but the 3rd or 4th sets are normally when I end up using it.

- To easily commandeer a Wraith in Halo Reach all you need to do is take out the turret gunner and then hit the Wraith with a charged Plasma Pistol shot. A charged Plasma Pistol shot comes with an EMP effect which will immobilize the vehicle for a short amount of time. Now all you need to do is mount the Wraith and get into the turret gunner seat. This will cause the Covenant driving the Wraith to bail, allowing you to jump into the driver's seat as a result. If you'd like to see a video of this as an example check out my Halo Reach How to steal a Wraith with a Plasma Pistol Youtube Video.

- Want some advice on what weapons to use during Firefight and why? I have put together a Halo Reach Firefight Weapon Tier List that you may find helpful in determining what weapons you want to pick up and keep on your character.

- You can find an unmanned Ghost sitting near the northwestern Covenant camp on this map. It respawns at the start of each round and is here on all Firefight modes that I have played on. From what I have seen enemies will never grab it so it's available to the player whenever they want it.
