Halo 3 ODST (MCC) Firefight Guide - Alpha Site

Alpha Site Loading Screen

Alpha Site is one of the Firefight maps from the ODST Campaign, it's part of the ONI: Alpha Site Mission. The Firefight map consists of the indoor area with the elevators and the outdoor atrium. Health Packs and some ammo for your Pistol and SMG can be found near the stairs that lead up to the hallways.

There is a Sniper Rifle and Shotgun that you can find along the walls of the indoor area closest to your spawn and a Rocket Launcher you can find along the wall of the outdoor atrium. Map locations of these weapons can be found in the picture below - check it out for exact positions.

Enemies can spawn on the outdoor atrium as well as from the indoor elevator shafts if you're playing on Floodfight. During the normal Firefight mode enemies will only spawn in the outdoor atrium area. When you're playing the arcade style game modes you'll get Brutes that spawn within the elevator shafts. On all the game modes, the rest of the enemies you're fighting are dropped off or spawn along the outdoor atrium.

When you are playing Floodfight you should expect many different types of Flood enemies to come out of the elevator shafts. They will spawn on the bottom floor of the elevator as well as drop down from above so keep your eye out at all times. You should not assume that it's automatically safe inside because you cleared out all of the enemies - they could potentially spawn behind you.

During Floodfight there will also be numerous weapon/ammo supply stations throughout the area for you to grab. This will include the UNSC Assault Rifle and Battle Rifle; both of these weapons spawn in ammo supply stations in the hallways leading to the outdoor atrium. Neither of these stations are here during normal Firefight, they're only available during Floodfight.

Alpha Site Flood Battle

My advice on this map is the same as pretty much every other Firefight map, you'll typically want to split your team up into two and have half of them watch one side while the other half watches the opposite side. For this map what that means is you have half the team watch one hallway leading to the outdoor atrium and half your team watches the opposite hallway.

Normally each group on your team will be fluid, towards the end of each set you will normally push out into the atrium if you're doing well. On Floodfight you normally always push into the outdoor atrium (even if you're not doing well) because some of the Flood move at a snail's pace and they need to be eliminated to progress the round.

While we're on the topic of Floodfight, I strongly recommend you do not waste the Rocket Launcher ammo throughout the game and instead save it for the annoying needle-shooting Flood enemies that climb into the elevator shafts. Normally by the end of the round there are so many Flood in the elevator shaft shooting at you that being inside becomes a hazard. If someone on your team uses up all of the Rocket Launcher ammo my next best advice is to grab a Brute Shot, Fuel Rod Cannon or Sentinel Beam as they all seem to work the best.

All in all this is a pretty solid Firefight map and is one of the easier ones to beat even if you don't have the best team. Of course during the more arcade game modes then it kind of comes down to every man for themselves. You have an Overshield and unlimited ammo so you can be a bit more careless than during the other game modes.

Extra Tips & Tricks

- If you'd like some advice on what weapons to use during ODST's Firefight and Floodfight modes I recommend you check out my Halo 3 ODST Firefight/Floodfight Weapon Tier List. That page is filled with information about each weapon and what sorts of scenarios they excel in and why. It also compares all weapons to give you an idea of what you'll want pick up and what you'll want to leave.

- Weapons placed inside of the elevator will not despawn between sets or rounds. A good strategy for this map is to collect weapons during the round and place them inside the elevator so that you can return to collect them when they're needed.

- You can find extra ammo for the Rocket Launcher and Sniper Rifle by searching the outdoor atrium areas on this map. One atrium will have ammo for the Rocket Launcher and the other one will have ammo for the Sniper Rifle.

- During Floodfight Sentinels will spawn from the elevator shafts and quickly kill your entire group if you're not prepared for them.

- For Fistfight on this map the biggest piece of advice I can give to you is switch to your sword when you are on the outdoor atrium so you don't knock yourself off the map.

- When there are invisible Brutes or invisible Flood spawning I strongly recommend you use your VISR because it'll give the enemies an outline and make them much easier to see. Even if it is light out and VISR makes it harder to see - switch it on and off as you scan an area for invisible enemies.
