The Razormaw Hatchling is the Alliance equivalent of the Horde's Leaping Hatchling. Both of them are right around the same level and are very easy for newbies to farm that are looking for some extra cash. Also a very important piece of information to keep in mind is that the Razormaw Hatchling now drops from the Razormaw Matriarch's nest and not the actual Razormaw Matriarch. The nest inside of the cave has, what is rumored to be, a 6 hour spawn time. Also as a side note, an important one at that, there has been no tie to the Razormaw Matriarch being up and her nest being up.

Knowing all of this, the best way for you to farm for the Razormaw Hatchling is to log off an alt in the cave of which the nest spawns in and occasionally log him or her on to see if it has spawned. You can do this hourly or ever 10 to 15 minutes, really whatever you feel comfortable with. If you know for a fact no one else is farming for the raptor then logging in once an hour will be the most effective way.

If you don't know how often you should log back in and check for the raptor, just use your servers population as a guide. Low pop servers I would say you're fine logging in once an hour, especially if it is very low pop. Medium pop maybe twice an hour, depending on the time of day. High pop servers I recommend logging in every 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the time of day. If you check back frequently it shouldn't take you very long at all to get the Raptor that you're after.

Aside from skinners miners will also prosper from this cave. You will find quite a bit of low level mines throughout the cave as you're looking for the Razormaw Matriarch's nest. If you get lucky enough to find this pet then you're in for a pretty big pay day. The pet can go from 250 to 1000g depending on your server and faction. For Horde it will sell for more since it is so out of the way, for Alliance it will sell for less since it is like right around the corner from an important town.

The final Raptor pet that was added in WoTLK was the Razormaw Hatchling. This pet is a drop from the rare raptor, a Razormaw Matriarch in Wetlands. The Razormaw Matriarch is most commonly seen to spawn in the cave in northeastern Wetlands. Since this raptor is usually in demand players will almost always be farming in this cave. As with the other raptors, the best time to farm in this cave would be 1am to 5am, giving you little to no competition. However, if you're in here at prime time and someone is clearing the cave, if you have skinning and he doesn't you could make a good deal of cash!
