Iron Ore Farming in Western Plaguelands

Western Plaguelands is an amazing zone to farm Iron Ore in. All around the edges of Western Plaguelands you will find dozens upon dozens of nodes. I've found that the most of them are just north of Felstone Field and Dalson's Farm as well as towards the end of the path just west of Andorhal by the river. In addition to finding Iron here you will also find Gold mines. They are few and far between but they do have a chance of spawning throughout Western Plaguelands. One thing to keep in mind that I have found to be very weird is that the animals here have this messed up concept about them that they become extremely hostile the second you start gathering a node.

Probably the number one thing I want to bring up about farming here is watch out for level 85s that are doing Archaeology in the immediate area. Up north where the gnolls are is an extremely common Fossil spot. Felstone Field and a location just west of Andorhal, south of the river, is another common location. Whenever I farm Iron here I usually see at least one person at one of the Archaeology sites with each and every pass. Then again I play on an extremely populated server so, I guess it's rather common to see that. So, in closing, beware of gankers, or possibly be the ganker yourself and also don't forget to bitch about the unusually hostile mobs when you go to mine something close to them.
