Farming Runecloth

Runecloth was the highest level cloth in the game back during classic WoW. Unlike a lot of other cloths in the game, Runecloth has always been a difficult cloth to farm and one of the more expensive cloths in the game. It is also the only cloth I have ever seen that of whichs price increases periodically with each passing expansion. Now, if you used to play WoW before Cataclysm then the most important thing anyone can tell you now is that a lot of the instance you were used to that dropped Runecloth don't anymore. Only Blackrock Depths and Blackrock Spire now drop Runecloth, Scholomance and Stratholme now drop Mageweave.

Of course there are still many places to farm Runecloth outside of Blackrock Spire or Blackrock Depths, but as mentioned before, if you were around before Cataclysm all of the locations that you are used to have changed. Well, not literally all of them but upwards of at least 90% have been changed to lower level content. As with all of my cloth farming guides, first I will list the instances worth farming for Runecloth and after that I will list all of the solo locations that you will be able to do at lower levels.

Runecloth Instance Farming Guides:

Runecloth Farming in Lower Blackrock Spire

Runecloth Farming in Upper Blackrock Spire

Those are the only two locations that are in instances worth mentioning for Runecloth Farming. As mentioned before, Blackrock Depths drops Runecloth as does Hellfire Ramparts, the very first instance in Outlands. However both have a low drop rate on Runecloth, and also Hellfire Ramparts you will find more Netherweave Cloth than Runecloth. As far as solo locations go, here is a list of all the locations that I have found to be worthwhile farming for Runecloth.

Runecloth Farming Locations:

Twilight Cultists in Silithus

Nethergarde Mine in Blasted Lands

Red Reaches in Blasted Lands
