How To Headshot Guide

Despite what you may think Headshotting is actually fairly easy to do. There are of course some prerequisites but they are all fairly minimal. You will need a Ranged Weapon and enough AAs into your Headshot AA to properly kill the humanoid mob. The rank of Headshot you need depends on the type of mob you want to kill. Take a look at the main headshot page to figure out where you can go at each of the available ranks of headshot.

Also to Headshot efficiently you will want the spell Vinelash Cascade which can be purchased in PoK. This is a must for Rangers looking to Headshot. It will root all of the mobs in a cone in front of you. A picture example of this can be found below. The blue lines represent the cone-like attack that Vinelash gives you. The picture looks silly of course since the lines are going up but picture them going out. That is how the cone works!

Don't want to read this guide and would prefer to watch a video on Headshotting? Below is a video that I made going over exactly what this guide goes over!

Some obstacles will get in the way of Vinelash Cascade. It could be something like a little rock that completely blocks your Vinelash Cascade or a little lip of a hill. In a lot of environments it is highly unreliable but without it Headshotting mobs would be impossible. So what you want to do is use a Ranged Attack to pull a bunch of mobs to you. Then you will want to use Vinelash Cascade as they are running at you to root them all in place and snare them.

After you root them back up and get some range before firing away at them with Autofire. This will help you when root breaks, giving you valuable time to re root them before they reach you. Headshot is a random proc, increased with Dexterity and a faster Delay on your weapon (if you are not autoshoting that is).

If you are new to a Ranger and don't know what autoshot is it is a fairly easy command. By typing "/Autofire" you are able to shoot your bow over and over and over until the monster dies or you stop it manually. This is a must so you don't have to sit there and spam Ranged Attack to use them. You can change macros or make new ones in your Actions window. Below is exactly the type of macro you will need for Autofire!
