Chapter 1 of the Shadows of Undrentide Expansion starts you out inside of your bedroom next to a chest with some goodies. Grab everything inside then exit the room for some dialogue with Drogan's other students; during this dialogue you'll be interrupted by an attack which will cause everyone else to run off.

Spend some time on the 2nd floor opening everyone all the chests and stealing everyone's stuff. When you're ready to proceed with the story go downstairs and you'll get a cutscene with a lot of kobolds showing up and attacking everyone. Help fight the Kobolds after the cutscene and loot whatever you can find that they dropped. Talk to Ayala when you want to advance the story again.

To make things easier to read for you I have created a quick list below of each important step that we should complete while still in Drogan's House.

1. Talk with Dorna or Xanos to recruit them as a Henchman
2. Go downstairs and talk with Riisi to get some Focus Crystals and the Key to the 2nd floor
3. Visit the locked room on the 2nd floor and learn how to use The Grinder to make more Focus Crystals
4. Hit up the Weapon Racks on the 2nd floor for some equipment and weapons

Where to make Focus Crystals on the 2nd floor

Learning to make Focus Crystals is important because they're the reagent that is consumed when you use the Mystra's Hand ring. Each time you use this ring it will teleport you back to Drogan's House in the main room with Ayala, Drogan and everyone else. There will be a few times that you return here to update your main quest and you'll also be teleporting back here for quick access to the nearby vendors.

When you're finished with everything you need inside of Drogan's House you'll want to exit and head south towards town. Make sure you thoroughly explore the area as there are numerous Kobolds and Rats in the surrounding area that'll give you some EXP. Spend some time exploring town and learning where the merchants are and what each building is.

Completing each of these quests will involve a lot of running around town which is good for familiarizing yourself with everything here. When you are done with all the quests and ready to continue with the main story you'll want to exit south out of the Hilltop - East map.
