Almar's Guild Wars 2 Pricing Chart

A lot of people ask me what I price my items at since I list items on the Trading Post in Guild Wars 2 for more than their lowest listing price (usually). I do this because I don't mind waiting a little while for the items to sell for an increased profit. I look at it like this, if you list an item on Monday is there any reason you need the money right now? The answer should be no. Why not wait until Wednesday and make more money off that select item?

Also if you look at it like this... Eventually you will have so many items listed on the Trading Post that you won't be 'waiting' anymore. For example, I have close to 1,000 auctions up at all times and almost every day one of those markets is going to go up and my items will sell. So every day I am selling items for higher than their usual base value because I have been listing items for an increased price for so long.

Now so this isn't an entire cluster of information I am going to break down my Pricing Chart into more than one page. I will try to give each tier of materials their own page that way depending on what you want to view you can find and access your information quicker.

I will have the following information at the top of every page due to it's importance.

Please keep in mind when pricing items for higher than their lowest current selling price you could be sitting on the item for an entire week. In some rare cases you could be sitting on the item for even longer than that. These prices are built around what I know the market's go up to for each individual item. For some of these items their markets won't go up as high as my listing price until the Weekend which is when the most people are playing and buying the items.

The most prominent example of this is Crystalline Dust and Unidentified Dyes. I list my Crystalline Dust at 27s 55c - 27s 75c and my Unidentified Dyes at the same prices. These two items usually only go that high on Weekends, Sunday to be exact and very seldom go up to those prices on Weeknights. This same logic holds true for some other items as well. Just think of it like this, eventually once you have so many different items listed almost every day at least one of your 'markets' will break through and sell.

Here are a few different scenarios that could involve your items going up in price and you selling them for a higher than market value price.

1. Someone needs to buy an item to level up their profession. They need 15 of the item but their Trading Post is lagging and they accidentally purchase 155. (Trust me, this happens more than you'd think)

2. More than one person is leveling said profession today. Say the item is Large Scales and they usually sell for 1s 10c, someone buys 100 for leveling their profession and it goes up to 1s 20c, another person after him needs 100 too and buys them which increases the price to 1s 30c. I list mine at 1s 28c, bam we sold ours.

3. Weekends have more people playing and the demand on items usually increases and the prices do with it. Items that would usually not sell during the week sell on weekends.

4. No one is leveling or farming in the level bracket of where your item drops/can be found in. The Demand for the item will stay the same but the supply decreases making the price temporarily go up.

There are plenty more reasons an item would/could sell for a higher market price those were just the first 4 reasons that popped into my head.

Elder Wood Logs - 45c - 55c

The Elder Wood Logs and Mithril Ore market is very sporadic at times, sometimes they barely sell for over 30c and other times they shoot up to 55c. I usually try and list 250 at 50c, 250 at 45c and maybe like 100 at 55c. I just try to spread mine out between those 10c so whatever they manage to go up to I can get some decent money.

Mithril Ore - 45 - 55c

The Elder Wood Logs and Mithril Ore market is very sporadic at times, sometimes they barely sell for over 30c and other times they shoot up to 55c. I usually try and list 250 at 50c, 250 at 45c and maybe like 100 at 55c. I just try to spread mine out between those 10c so whatever they manage to go up to I can get some decent money.

White Chainmail Gear (Levels 76/78) - 75c to 99c

I usually list a bunch of this gear for those two prices, usually starting by listing quite a few of them at 99c and then listing a bunch for 75c. As Mithril goes up in price people will buy this stuff to salvage it and selling it for those two prices is more than vendor price. Warning: It may take longer than a week to sell this salvage gear. So take that into consideration before you list it.

Tier 6 Materials

Crystalline Dust - (27s 55c)

It sometimes takes a little for the Crystalline Dust to sell but in my experience it always gets up to 27s, sometimes, but a lot less often it goes past it. If you really don't mind sitting on the dust for an extremely long time I used to list them at 29s 99c but they would sell monthly instead of weekly.

Gossamer Silk - (99c - 1s 12c)

I usuall always list my Gossamer Silk at 99c but sometimes it goes above 1s. I usually list a bunch at 1s 12c first and once I have about 70 - 100 up on the Trading Post I will start listing them for the lesser amount, 99c.

Armored Scale (33s 99c - 37s 99c)

Currently with the Secrets of Southsun patch these are very low in price. If they ever 'right' again and go back up you will want to list them for 37s 99c, if they don't my current listing price is 33s 99c.

Vial of Powerful Blood (33s - 37s)

Currently with the Secrets of Southsun patch these are very low in price. If they ever 'right' again and go back up you will want to list them for 37s 99c, if they don't my current listing price is 33s 99c.

Powerful Venom Sac (9s 45c)

I list these at this price, they usually sell pretty quick, I sit on them for a few days usually tops. Sometimes they get as low as 6s listing price but always go back up to 9s.

Vicious Fang (14s 55c)

Vicious Fangs have gone way up and way down from what I have seen. I've seen them up to 23s before and I had some listed there to see if they ever went that high again but I sat on them for literally 3 months.

Karka Shell (???)

Vicious Claw (14s 75c)

Ancient Bone (9s 55c - 9s 75c)

Level 80 White Items

Be sure to check each of these to see if they are worth selling on the Trading Post. Only the ones that salvage into Mithril/Elder Wood Logs are worth selling, once you learn which ones these are you'll be able to go through them quick. Below is a quick cheat sheet for them.

- Rawhide Whites (Vendor)

- Acolyte Whites (I usually list some for 75c and some for 99c; once I have like 20 or more listed I just vendor them all)

- Weapons (I usually list for 75c - 99c or if they have a buy order that is above 1s I fill it)

- Chainmail Gear (I list for 75c - 99c or if they have a buy order above 1s I fill it)
