Lelani's Sorrow - Act 1 Side Quest

Lelani's Sorrow begins by speaking with Lelani who is next to the Pet Shop in the town of Eirulan. She asks you to find a keepsake from Aman'lu for her and she'll give you a Child's Doll as your first item of trade; that's about all the information the quest gives you. What you'll need to do for this quest is to visit multiple different NPCs throughout the entire game and trade the current item you have to them in exchange for an item they have.

You'll need to visit a total of 8 different NPCs starting in Eirulan and going all the way into late Act 3. Below I have included a succinct list of each NPC you must visit and below that list you'll find a more detailed step by step list with pictures and additional information. Just incase you're having trouble locating any of the NPCs involved in this quest.

1. Trade Child's Doll to Fenella in the Terrace of the Falls area of Eirulan for a Flask of Elven Ale
2. Trade Flask of Elven Ale to Soldier Balamar at the Resistance Outpost in Azunite Desert for Skath Cat Ribs
3. Trade Skath Cat Ribs to Soldier Jordhan in the Eirulan Inn for Lucky Statuette of Xeria
4. Trade Lucky Statuette of Xeria to Soldier Kiernan in Snowbrook Haven Dining Hall for Morden Head on a Pike
5. Trade Morden Head on a Pike to Alar'Ithil in Aman'lu for a Bottle of Elven Water
6. Trade Bottle of Elven Water to Prospector Gareth in Some Crumbling Ruins (Northern Plain of Tears) for a Battered Agallan Relic
7. Trade Battered Agallan Relic to Nalus in Kalrathia for a Bundle of Harpy Feathers
8. Trade Bundle of Harpy Feathers to Ithir'renne the Fletcher in Aman'lu for an Aman'lu Orchid, your final item

 

1. Trade Child's Doll for Flask of Elven Ale

For the first trade you'll want to visit Fenella in the Terrace of the Falls of Eirulan. To reach the Terrace of the Falls you'll need to ride the lift down from the Inn/Tavern platform; use my map screenshot below if you need additional guidance. You can do this trade at any point after starting the quest.

 

2. Trade Flask of Elven Ale to Soldier Balamar for Skath Cat Ribs

Next up we will be trading the Flask of Elven Ale to Soldier Balamar in the Azunite Desert. You can easily reach Soldier Balamar by taking the Teleporter to the Azunite Desert and walking a few steps to the outpost nearby. Soldier Balamar will be found in the only building in this outpost.

 

3. Trade Skath Cat Ribs to Soldier Jordhan for Lucky Statuette of Xeria

Our next trade is done back in Eirulan. Inside of the Inn/Tavern you'll find Soldier Jordhan on the second floor in one of the guest rooms. Speak with him and offer to trade your Lucky Statuette of Xeria to him for his Morden Head on a Pike.

 

4. Trade Lucky Statuette of Xeria to Soldier Kiernan for a Morden Head on a Pike

This next trade won't be possible until the end of Act 2 when you find yourself in Snowbrook Haven. Here you'll find someone by the name of Soldier Kiernan who will trade you for your Morden Head on a Pike. The fastest way to reach this soldier is to take the Teleporter to Snowbrook Haven Reliquary (if you have it) then back track from there.

Soldier Kiernan is found in the Snowbrook Haven Courtyard which is one of the first areas you'll visit when arriving in Snowbrook Haven.

 

5. Trade Morden Head on a Pike to Alar'Ithil in Aman'lu for a Bottle of Elven Water

Another easy trade, you'll find Alar'Ithil in the southern portion of Aman'lu - cross the southern bridge and he will be in one of the two houses just before the Southern Vai'lutra Forest zone line. In order to reach his house you'll need to complete the Finala and the Bridge Story Quest first.

Note: Vol. 3 Downfall of Manu Ostar is found in this building.

 

6. Trade Bottle of Elven Water to Prospector Gareth in Northern Plain of Tears for Battered Agallan Relic

The next trade will be completed in the Northern Plain of Tears. You'll find Prospector Gareth just a tad bit south of the Northern Plain of Tears Teleporter; where I am standing in my map screenshot below you'll find a building and an elevator. Ride the elevator down into the basement area and you'll find Prospector Garenth.

 

7. Trade Battered Agallan Relic to Nalus in Kalrathia for a Bundle of Harpy Feathers

For the next person we need to trade with you'll want to head back to Kalrathia and look for Nalus standing along the northern wall. To reach the area along the wall Nalus is you'll need to run up some stairs and across a wooden plank; it's in the same area you pick up The Lore of Aranna quest.

 

8. Trade Bundle of Harpy Feathers to Ithir'renne the Fletcher in Aman'lu for an Aman'lu Orchid

Last but not least you'll need to return to Aman'lu with the Bundle of Harpy Feathers in hand and trade them to Ithir'renne the Fletcher. She'll give you the Aman'lu Orchid which is the final item you need to trade for in this long quest.
