Field of Scale - SoD Leveling Guide
You have many different options for killing in the Field of Scale depending on what you're capable of. In the northern portion of the zone you have a bunch of Relatively Weak animals which you can easily pick off if your gear sucks and you don't have many AAs. Also, you have a great chance of getting some rots while you're here from some of the actual groups (if there are any).
If you hang out near the northern most shore you'll very safely be able to pull any of the relatively weak enemies you see and not have to worry about adds or regular enemies. Players who are solo/in a smaller group or are boxing a smaller team may want to grind in this area.
Keep in mind that *if* you can handle regular enemies around your level you should avoid killing the relatively weak ones at all. What I mean is if you can handle normal mobs in Oceangreen Hills don't bother killing these marginally higher level relatively weak ones. You'll get much better EXP grinding mobs that aren't relatively weak to you.
Groups that can handle a mixture of relatively weak enemies and regular ones in this zone will find the best hunting location to the east of Kurn's Tower and to the east of the huge army in Field of Scale. The blue circle on the map above covers this area too, it's the part that wraps around furthest to the south.
In the part of the zone covered with the large light blue circle on the map above you'll find the following named enemies to kill:
An Ancient Bonegrinder: Bonegrinder's Bauble (Aug), Brass Facade, Golden Facade, Distorted Seminal Incandessence, Distorted Seminal Luminessence
Jracsza the Feral: Collar of the Tamed, Feral Lord's Collar, Feral Eye (Aug), Distorted Seminal Incandessence, Distorted Seminal Luminessence
Darkcoil the Constrictor: Rod of Dark Rituals, Veil of Coiling Darkness, Veil of Coiling Shadow, Warped Seminal Incandessence, Warped Seminal Luminessence
Fluttershade: Darktide Cape, Midnight Harvest Loop, Moonharvest Loop, Tattered Darktide Cape, Fractured Seminal Incandessence, Fractured Seminal Luminessence
Blackblade Lorkis: Aquadescent Earring, Aquadescent Stud, Blackblade Epaulet, Blackblade Officer Epaulet, Fractured Seminal Incandessence, Fractured Seminal Luminessence
The next location worth mentioning in Field of Scale is the large red circle on my map above. This covers the southern end of the zone and is another great location for groups that can handle a mixture of relatively weak enemies and regular ones.
As you could imagine there are some named enemies for you to kill down in this camp too. Here's a list of the named enemies you'll encounter in the large red circle at the bottom end of the map:
Oracle Vro'Zok: Dragonbone Fan, Drakebone Fan, Dragonsteel Shield, Drakesteel Buckler, Warped Seminal Incandessence, Warped Seminal Luminessence
Battleguard Gauntas: Dragonskin Buckler, Drakeskin Buckler, Dragonsteel Cloak, Drakesteel Cape, Fractured Seminal Incandessence, Fractured Seminal Luminessence
Finally there is one last camp that I really want to mention for players in this level range and that's the Iksar City in the bottom right hand corner of the map above. This place is where you'll find the zone line for both Kaesora Library and Kaesora Hatchery. There aren't any nameds for you to kill in the city but boy oh boy are there a lot of enemies!
You'll find good hunting down here regardless of your group size. There's a lot of Iksars that are outside of the building walking around solo or in a pair guarding the door to a building. These will be good for smaller groups or boxers. Full groups of course can pull the inside of the buildings without worrying too much about the larger pulls. Of course if things go side ways there's also two zone lines nearby for you as well.
If you're reading this long after the Seeds of Destruction expansion pack then you may be interested in the Iksar City even more if you're a Ranger, Berserker or Rogue. As these classes get Headshot, Decap and Assassination abilities that will help you make quick work of the Humanoid enemies here.
Save any Chronal Resonance Dust and Sunshard Ore for barters as well as Cultural Silk, Ore and the more useful gems, Taaffeite, Prestidigitase, Harmonagate, Staurolite. You can sell these items in The Bazaar for a decent amount of plat or to a barter for less plat but instant money by typing /bar. You can also do this anywhere in the game.
Additional Information
- In order to reach this zone you'll need to go through The Void which can be reached from Plane of Time. There's two easy ways to reach Plane of Time, the Guild Hall portal or a Wizard/Druid. Or you could speak with the NPC in PoK that ports you here, Herald of Druzzil Ro. If you're unfamiliar with any of what I just said, use my guide on how to reach SoD zones.
- There are two different quest lines in Field of Scale and other SoD revamped Kunark zones for you to complete which will reward you with two different Illusion clickies. Bone Mask of the Ancient Iksar and Baron Yosig's Skeleton.
- If you're having trouble managing your Inventory Space I highly recommend you invest in some Extraplanar Trade Satchels which are 32 Slot Tradeskill Bags. Alternatively you could also buy Unexpanded Tailored Backpacks as well. Though, the Backpacks will likely be more expensive. Follow the links provided to learn more about each item.
- If you need more plat while leveling I strongly recommend you check out my How to make more plat while leveling by Bartering Guide. It'll give you a list of all the different items you should be keeping an eye out for to Barter/Sell!

This guide may contain errors or inaccuracies since the game has changed a lot since I wrote it.
It also contains a lot of information not found on this page about the zone and the mobs in it.
