Egg Farming Locations & Information

Eggs are used in dozens of different recipes in the Baking Profession as well as a couple recipes here and there in other professions such as Brewing. This guide will primarily involve Baking combines that require the Eggs and it'll not only show you the best locations to farm these eggs but also the differences in how much each egg yields per combine.

For those of you who don't already know, certain eggs will give you more ingredients when combining them. A perfect example of this is the difference between Snake Eggs and say Basilisk Eggs. When you create Clump of Dough from a Snake Egg it'll only yield a single one. When you create Clump of Dough from a Basilisk Egg you'll get 5 or 15 instead of just 1. It depends on what type of Basilik Egg you use.

How much Clump of Dough each type of Egg yields:

Snake Eggs - 1
Rockhopper Egg - 1
Sand Snake Egg - 1
Alligator Eggs (Foraged) - 5
Alligator Eggs (Looted) - 10
Basilisk Eggs (Foraged) - 5
Aviak Eggs - 5
Basilisk Egg (Looted) - 15
Cockatrice Egg - 5 (Not in game until Kunark)
Drake Egg - 12
Nifilik Egg - 5 (Not in the game until Ykesha)
Wurm Egg - 14 (Not in the game until Velious)
Griffon Egg - 7
Dragon Egg - 20
Nest Drake Egg - 18

How many Noodles each type of Egg yields:

Snake Eggs - 1
Rockhopper Egg - 1/2 depending on which egg
Alligator Eggs (Foraged and looted) - 2
Basilisk Eggs (foraged) - 2
Aviak Eggs - 2
Basilisk Egg - 2
Cockatrice Egg - 3 (Not in game until Kunark)
Drake Egg - 3
Owlbear Egg - 3 (Not in game until Luclin)
Nifilik Egg - 4 (Not in the game until Ykesha)
Wurm Egg - 4 (Not in the game until Velious)
Griffon Egg - 4
Shissar Egg - 6 (Not in the game until Luclin)
Dragon Egg - 8

There's one more set of recipes that Eggs can be used for in Baking with a varying amount of results per combine, Egg Batter. But we're not going to cover that on this page since I don't use Egg Batter in many of my Baking Guides. When the time comes that I finally do, we'll give that its own page.

In the mean time, let's take a look at all the different locations we can farm up some eggs!

Lavastorm Mountains - Basilisk Egg Farming

This is arguably the best location in the entire game for you to farm Eggs at. There are tons of Basilisk that spawn up here and since they are a part of Classic EQ this location is not only always available throughout the entire game but it also is the easiest location you'll find throughout all of Norrath with Basilisks. I love this location so much that it's even a part of my Classic EQ Farming Guides.

Sunderrock Springs - Basilisk Egg Farming

This location is added into the game during The Serpent's Spine expansion pack. You'll find these basilisks to the right immediately after zoning into Sunderrock Springs from Goru'kar Mesa inbetween the large cliff side and the zone's wall. Their location is shown on my map above.

Jaggedpine Forest - Basilisk Egg Farming

When I mention egg farming locations almost everyone comments about the Basilisk cave in Jaggedpine Forest. I've personally never used this location myself but considering how many people always tell me that this location rocks -- it must be good!

(Foraging) Butcherblock Mountains - Aviak Eggs

I recommend this location to people who are extremely lazy and don't feel like hunting mobs. During Classic EQ you can sit your butt right in this zone and just Forage to dig up abunch of Aviak Eggs.

(Foraging) Temple of Veeshan - Dragon, Drake and Wurm Eggs

The entrance of Temple of Veeshan is 100% safe (at least until a raid moves through) and believe it or not - this zone is one of the best locations for you to farm Eggs. You'll need a high Forage skill to make farming here worth your while but those with high foraging will find that Wurm, Drake and Dragon Eggs all drop here in abundance.
