Synthweaving Crew Skill Guide

Synthweaving specializes in crafting lighter armor, most of which is for Jedi Consulars and Sith Inquisitors, some of which can also be used for Jedi Knights and Sith Warriors, but only their Advanced Classes that do not use Heavy Armor. Think of Synthweaving as either Tailoring or Leatherworking, that would be the most accurate thing to compare to to in other games. Players with Synthweaving are able to Reverse Engineer the items that they create and possibly discover new ways to improve their armor creation. Archaeology provides players with the raw materials used in Synthweaving and Underworld Trading is the mission skill that will also provide materials.

As of patch 1.2 Synthweavers are able to create the best PvP Gear in the game for all four aforementioned classes. At first glance the gear is exactly the same but when you take into consideration the ability to "crit" with crafting and adding an Augment slot into the PvP Gear; it makes the outcome better than what you would otherwise be able to buy with Warzone Commendations. So, if you are looking for a profession that will allow you to make the absolute best gear for your class, look no further!

As we near 400 the options of what we can make to raise our Synthweaving crew skill really open up. We are able to make three different sets of gear here. Each of them require the same materials but different amounts of each. Depending on how many Hypertech Artifact Fragments you have and Phond Crystals you will want to use your best judgment in which to make. The reason I leave this up to you is because maybe you found a really good deal on Phond Crystals and now you have an extra 100 of them than you do Hypertech Artifact Fragments. You'll want to make the recipe that calls for more Phond Crystals than Artifact Fragments.

The only other item required to make this gear is Zeyd-Cloth which can be purchased from a crew skills vendor in your factions Fleet Station or you can run the Zeyd-Cloth Archaeology missions that yield it. It doesn't matter how you get it, the missions are sometimes cheaper than the vendor but of course take more time. Be sure to use Reverse Engineering on any of the items you make to get back some of your materials which you will be able to sell on the Auction House or reuse.

For the final range of Synthweaving here you have the most options available to you of all the previous skill ranges. You can make really whatever you'd like throughout this skill range. More than ever these options are important as the prices on Damind Crystals and Alien Artifact Fragments will fluctuate constantly depending on how many people are farming Archaeology nodes on Ilum or Belsavis or wherever else. Make whatever set or piece of gear that works best for you, we're in the homestretch too so any materials grade 5 and below that aren't Damind Crystals/Alien Artifact Fragments can be sold on the Auction House to get some of those hard earned credits back!
