The Hole - Temple AA Guide

The final levels possible for you to get AAs in The Hole are the very early 70s. The place you will want to go for these levels inside The Hole is the Temple. It is the most northern point in the zone and there is only one tunnel that takes you to it. In the Temple you will find a good 30 to 40 mobs for you to kill at all times. Also each and every one of these mobs is undead, meaning if you're a Paladin you will kill them quite quickly. Level 71 is the last level that everything inside the Temple will con Light Blue. Starting at 72 some of the undead inside will go green.

All this means is get all the AAs you want before getting 72, then get the ones you want at that level, or leave. When you first get here at level 71 you may not even be able to clear all the undead inside the temple before they start respawning. It all depends on your class, how many AAs you have and where they are placed.

TIP: If you're a Paladin Max Cleanse and Slay Undead asap, it will help out a ton since almost every mob in The Hole is Undead.

Map of The Hole

The Hole Map

NOTE: You no longer need Shrink Potions or a key to move the rocks. All you need is to click it. (Changed with the Underfoot Expansion)

NOTE 2: The hole in Paineel that leads down into The Hole will no longer kill you when you fall down it. (Changed with the Underfoot Expansion)

NOTE 3: There is now a portal in The Hole that will take you to Brell's Rest. This means in order to leave The Hole you can now take a portal instead of using a Gate Potion for dying. Another side note, If you do not own the Underfoot Expansion the portal will take you to the entrance of The Hole instead of Brell's Rest.

You will find a few different nameds inside the temple to kill but I recommend not even bothering with them. They are old school raid mobs which means they have a shit ton of HP and still give an average amount of XP. Your best bet is to avoid them. The easiest way to avoid them is just don't head up to the top of the temple. Kill the golem on the stairs and then turn around. Also something to keep in mind is don't forget to kill the crypt below the temple. You can get down to the crypt right off the left hand side of the temple.

Your inventory will fill up rather fast when you're fighting at the Temple so you'll have to decide what to discard to make room for more valuable items.

If you are struggling with this location or any other location around your level I have a few things that you could do to hopefully fix that. First and foremost you will want to upgrade your gear if you're still using Defiant Gear. There are a ton of Attunable items that you can find in The Bazaar, I recommend you buy the ones that are upgrades and equip them. If you want some help finding these items I highly recommend you use my Bazaar Gear Buying Guide (65+). The second and probably most important thing you can do is get all of the important AAs for your Class. To figure out what AAs are the most important AAs to get I recommend you read over my Everquest AA Placement Guide.

With better gear and all of the important AAs you will notice a gigantic difference in your character and what they are capable of.
