Aug Drops

Augs, short for Augmentations are types of items that players can put into their gear to make it more powerful. Only players with a Gold Membership can place Augs in their gear, F2P players will be unable to augment their gear. Augmentations are almost all no drop (unless you're on Fironia Vie) and they commonly drop from named mobs or are zone wide drops from a time when that zone was a Hotzone. If you want more information on augs I recommend you read up via my Augmentation Guide. Otherwise this page is just covering a little bit about them dropping as loot.

As aforementioned augs dropped in many different zones at one time or another when they were Hotzones. Every time Sony makes a zone into a Hotzone they add an aug that drops from there. All of these augs are no drop and usually are just mediocre at best. The more powerful augs come from named mobs from zones that are level 65 and up and from raid targets which you won't have to worry about now as this page is only covering the common drops.

The purpose of this page is to simply bring some of the Aug drops to your attention so you know what you're looking at when you find one. Since every Aug on my list of loot for each zone will bring you to this page it will be pretty easy to determine that the item is an Aug. Now, there are two types of augs I will be distinguishing between for you guys, Hotzone augs which will have all different times of names and drop in tons of different zones with all different stats. Then there are Defiant Augs which you can easily tell apart as they will have the word "Defiant" in the name. Just so you know what you're looking for with Augs for the sake of argument I decided to take pictures of a hotzone aug and a defiant aug. Below is a picture of the hotzone aug that I took:

Now even though the zone this drops from is no longer a Hotzone this aug still drops and most likely always will drop from that zone. Sony has never gone back and removed a hotzone aug before so I honestly doubt they would start now. The way you can tell an item is an Aug is... well it says it is! But aside from that I would like to bring to your attention that this aug is actually No Drop on every server aside from Fironia Vie. I play on Fironia Vie so this item is not no drop on my server so I apologize for any confusion this may cause.

You can tell this is a Defiant Aug because *drum roll* it has defiant in its name! This aug is dropable on all servers and can be sold, purchased and traded between players. Defiant Augs are usually quite powerful and have their uses even into the higher levels. Definitely worth keeping if you're a new player. Also Free to Play players can use Defiant Augs so I am sure they are now worth a lot more than they once were.
