Location: Rathe Mountains PP per Hour Estimate: 2000 to 2850
The Hill Giants in Rathe Mountains is probably one of the most famous farming locations ever. It has been called by many the "EQ ATM Machine". Since the Hill Giants drop a large amount of plat each kill it is the best location for "At The Minute money", hence the name ATM. The Giants here also have a very high drop rate on Fine Steel Weapons which you can sell to a vendor for 1 - 5pp a kill. Your inventory will get filled up quickly here but luckily there is a vendor right nearby at the Paladin Camp.
With the Giants dropping anywhere from 1 to 40pp a kill and a Fine Steel Weapon with almost every kill you could make close to 50pp in one kill. There is no doubt in my mind that the Hill Giants are by far your best option for making money in this level range. The only even remote downside to them is that the XP isn't that great, but hey, the XP is really just a bonus anyway! If you see a shortage of Hill Giants spawning along the mountain side, kill the Giant Skeletons and the Lizardmen that are around you. They serve as place holders for the Giants.
